Chiara Hamilton

Biography

Chiara began studying music at two years old. Since then she's studied under master musicians from all over the world.

Some of her musical accomplishments include playing in every level of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras, winning 1st place in the National Association Teachers of Singing (NATS) state competition and 2nd in the NATS regional competition, playing principal violist of the Washington Chamber Orchestra for several years, participated in the National Symphony Orchestra Fellowship Program, performed at the Sulzbach Rosenberg International Music Festival in Bavaria Germany, performed at various master classes throughout the world, attended the Jacobs School of Music Summer String Academy, made call-backs at Juilliard for voice, directed her choir "Philomena's Chorale" at The Worldwide Children's Holy Hour at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C., modeled, acted, and sang for the agency AMTC, won a scholarship to attend the New York Film Academy (NYC), won 4 first place prizes in The American Fine Arts Festival at Carnegie Hall, and was offered the viola teacher position at The Menuhin Foundation of Bermuda.

She has received certification in Montessori from Ms. Elizabeth Calanchini at Renaissance Montessori School and Mrs. Maggie Radzik at Siena Academy. In addition to working at Montessori Schools, Chiara has experience working through the Reggio Emilia and Waldorf approach and in other private schools.

Chiara's private music studio, known as Philomena Studios, has always overflowed with joy and growth. Her experiences with each student not only inspired her, but helped grow the unwavering dedication she has to the art of teaching music. She continues to give lessons to her own children and looks forward to the opportunity to grow her music studio again one day!

Chiara was extremely blessed to fulfill a childhood dream as the director of music at St Mary’s in Littleton Colorado in 2021-2022. She fondly looks back on such a fantastic opportunity. Funeral Masses were so sacred! She misses that experience the most. A new contentment of Chiara's is composing and recording music with her husband from their home.

Chiara and her family moved to the Maine Highlands in spring 2022 where they own 100 acres of forest. "Lindenhart" has become the richest inspiration for her music and art! It is an honor to live and work in the hidden woodlands of Maine.
